This morning, while trying to retrieve a kitten hiding under the couch, I discovered a click beetle. This find changed my plans for the day. With kitten outdoors and beetle in a jar I proceeding to my office to start the beetle’s photo shoot. Surprisingly the beetle was relatively still as I snapped its picture from different angles. But during the transfer from the paper to the jar the beetle clicked and the chase began but the beetle got away. I not only lost the beetle, but lost all the pictures of it because I had forgotten to put the memory card in the camera. But alas, I found a short video on YouTube. In fact the beetle in the video has luminescent spots. How cool is that!! Now you can see what happens when a click beetle clicks.
