It doesn’t matter if you are working with very young children or high school seniors—introduce all science topics with short and easy investigations.
Have you ever eaten ice cream and got a bad headache? Some call the pain “brain freeze.” It all amounts to eating too much too fast. The same is true with science–too much too fast will definitely cause “brain freeze.”
Small bites at a time are easier to ingest and to digest.
If the activity is fun, then kids will want second helpings.
I have been successful in using the same activity for different age levels. It’s the explanation that makes the activity age appropriate.
