Notes from Janice’s Desk
A neighbor called and ask if we knew how to get a snake out of the toilet. More information revealed that it was a large snake and was wound around in the toilet with only a loop of its body visible in the bowl. Thinking the snake was so coiled around that it was stuck, ideas were given for safely getting the snake out.
The snake’s markings identified it as a non-poisonous rat snake. But if it could catch and swallow a rat, I would not have tried to pull it out with my hands. I did suggest calling a vet for something to inject and knock the snake out. I am glad that this idea was not used because when the snake was poked with gardening shears it immediately uncoiled and wrapped itself around the shears. That would have been the moment that I would have given the shears and house to the snake. But Lee ran through the house with the snake wrapped around the shears and as his wife snapped pictures.
