Penguin Activity
Are your students as tall as an Emperor Penguin?
Prepare a place to for kids to compare their height to that of an emperor penguin (males can be as much as 39 inches tall). If possible, have a picture or diagram of a penguin. Secure the pic/diagram to a wall with the penguins feet on the floor. Kids can stand next to the penguin. Pictures would be fun.

The video is from the Movie–Happy Feet. For fun, you and your kids can identify what is not true about the movie–penguins don’t talk for one thing.
You can also identify things that ARE true about the movie, such as emperor penguins live in a very cold place–Antarctica.
