Water Conservation

Question:

Are we running out of water?

Answer:

Earth is not losing water. The water that dinosaurs drank is still on Earth somewhere. Water moves back and forth between the Earth’s surface and the air in what scientists call a water cycle.

When you drink water your body uses it for a time and then releases it in several ways–

sweating
breathing
waste: stool and urine

Water that evaporates from puddles cools in the upper air forming tiny cloud drops that return to Earth’s surface.

Water doesn’t escape into space so it cannot get away. Instead, water just moves around as it changes from one form to another.
