This is a great program. No matter what state you teach in, there is a program that focuses on your state standards. I found myself answering questions so that I could get back to the game it let me play, and I generally don’t play computer games.

YIKES! Now can you say that with just a bit of a Texas drawl? Basically it means that Study Island provides activities that teach kids your state assessments in ways that encourage them to learn. Its fun so the kids want to use it.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that Study Island has a recent Texas assessment update in place. Study Island is keeping their material better updated than most online curriculum programs.
Access Study Island from school, home or anywhere with a standard Internet connection, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
A teacher friend told me that her kids play the Study Island games at home. Because of the Study Island program, this same teacher’s kids last year improved in math scores about 30%. Once I figured out what the program would do, I can only say! WOW!!! How great is this. Tests meet the state assessments and are scored automatically, and recorded for each student. Now that is WONDERFUL! BUT there is more————-

I’ve not figured out how this works yet, but as a teacher, I needed all the help I could get–now it comes from a computer. UUM! I started teaching using a hand cranking memo-graph machine to make blue copies. We have come a long way!!!

About the only think it doesn’t do is cook and wash the dishes. But, without all the extra time spent grading papers, teachers will have more time to actually do individualized instructions.
