Chemistry: Matter

Notes from Janice’s Desk

Chemistry is one of my favorite sciences. Actually, I am not sure which I like the best, chemistry or physics.  But there is such an overlap of between all the science, so I guess I like them all.

matter

Chemistry is the study of the properties (characteristics) and behavior of matter. Physics deals more with the motion and energy of matter. Astronomy is matter in the whole universe, biology deals with matter in living organisms, earth science is the matter of the Earth, and so forth— Matter is the core of all sciences.

Matter is the stuff that everything is made of. For more information about matter, see        MATTER: SPACE

Janice
