I’ve had to really dust off a few brain cells lately. Well maybe I should say that My few brain cells needed much dusting.
When I taught physics, stuff about conversion factors was easy for me, but I’ve been working on basic experiments for kids for some time now.
Young learners are not ready for the math supporting different science concepts, such as using conversion factors. Since I feel so proud of myself for not only getting the problems correct but being able to reverse the magnitude of the units, I have to show off my work. Please remember when you are solving problems with measuring unit, the units are very important.
Always write the unit when showing your calculation.
Notice that the meter unit in the numerator of the problem cancels with the meter unit in the denominator.
