Gravity Model: Warped Space

Know that this is a model of the warping of space by two objects with different masses.

The paper cones in the diagram below are made from white poster board. Using two sheets of poster board, I cut the two identical and the largest possible circles.

The dashed line in the diagram to the right represents where each of the circles are to be cut.

The cut in the circles allow you to form cones by overlapping the rims of the circles.
The more the rims are overlapped, the smaller is the surface of the cone and the greater is its height.

The cones should be supported by a sturdy container. You want the cones to remain in place when you propel a sphere, such as a marble along the top of their rims. Cone A represents the warping of space by an object that is more massive than is the object warping space represented by cone B. Using the relationship given, you can compare the expected acceleration for the marble when it nears the two different sections of warped space.
