Making Möbius Strips

By Janice VanCleave

Each diagram on this page gives instructions for making a special curvy circle that will be used in a magic demonstration.

When you have made the three Möbius strips, instructions for using them in a magic of science demonstration can be found  HERE

Strip #2Directions for making the magic strips.

Notice that for each step a different color or designed of paper is used.

FYI: The longer the strip of paper used, the less likely your audience will notice the twists that the curvy paper circles created in strip # 2 and strip #3 have. The suggested length is between 18 to 36 inches.

Turn one end of this strip one-half turn (180 degrees), and then tape the two ends of the strip together.

Strip #3

Turn one end of the strip one full turn (360 degrees), and then tape the ends together.
