Nature Studies: Leaf Rubbing

Notes from Janice’s Desk

Whether it is a nature study or a class in physics remember I start off with an activity or experiment that is Easy and Fun.

I admit that while I have no choice about getting older, there is no requirement that I have to grow up. That is why I never tire of crayons and markers. I especially enjoy using crayons to make colored rubbing of coins. It still fascinates me that I can see president Lincoln in the penny rubbings.

I use rubbings of leaves instead of spending so much time trying to dry them for collections. I can even make different colors if I wish. Now is this a way to get started on studying nature or What!!!
