Science Can Be Depended On

By Janice VanCleave

Yes, one thing about science is that you can depend on it to be in a constant state of change. About the time you think you have the facts straight someone comes along with a new study that negates something you thought was set in stone.

The song, “And Another One Bites the Dust” could be the theme song for science. But, change is what makes science so wonderfully exciting. While researching tongue rolling I discovered a new idea that this trait is not inherited. UMM!! Not sure I am ready  for this change of information.

My granddaughter and her father can make the end of their tongue wavy. This is not something one can learn any more than being able to wiggle your ears or how you clasp your hands together. I can roll my tongue and at one time could fold the tip end of my tongue back. I tried to fold my tongue back this morning and it wouldn’t stay. I’ve been doing this all my life and now it doesn’t happen! But there are lots of other things my body can no longer do–run fast, leap over stuff, etc……………Didn’t know age would affect my tongue.
