Notes from Janice’s Desk
I was recently told of a science project done by a team of young boys. The boys had excitedly described the event as being the grossest and coolest thing they had ever done. Their gross-cool experiment was chewing a piece of cracker, then spitting it in a container and testing it for the presence of starch. It was the perfect science fair project–they had a control, variables, etc…..Not only did they learn why we need to chew our food well, but they could brag about doing such a gross experiment. They loved every second of it.
For specifics on this Gross Spitting Science Fair Project, see STARCH TO SUGAR.
